The Basics
Trash cans harbor bacteria, viruses, and pathogens that are harmful to your family. The odors produced by decomposing organic matter attract insects and rodents, and can become overwhelming — especially in garages where HOAs require cans to be stored out of sight. Simply rinsing with a garden hose gives bacteria a bath without killing them. Elite Can Cleaning eliminates 99% of bacteria and odors using 200° pressurized hot water and eco-friendly deodorizers, leaving your cans truly sanitized and safe.
Standard garden hose rinsing moves debris around but does not kill bacteria or eliminate odor-causing organic residue. At 200° Fahrenheit under high pressure, water kills 99% of pathogens on contact and breaks down grease, food film, and decomposing matter at a molecular level — flushing it all away completely. This is genuine sanitization that solves the root cause, not a rinse that temporarily masks the problem.
We use up to 3,000 psi of pressure, which is extremely powerful. However, paint, tar, and adhesives are difficult to remove and may not come off completely. Cans that haven't been washed in several years may require multiple cleanings before stubborn buildup fully breaks down. Newer cans will look nearly brand new after a single service. Older cans will be thoroughly sanitized and deodorized — free of bacteria and odor — even if cosmetic wear remains.
Scheduling & Service
For most service areas, we schedule cleanings the day after your regular city garbage day. We understand HOA rules requiring cans to be stored in garages or behind fences, and we work with you to coordinate a schedule that fits. You'll also receive a text reminder the day before we come out so your cans are at the curb and ready.
No — you do not need to be home. Simply leave your empty cans at the curb after your regular trash pickup. Our technician will clean them and return them to the curb. You'll receive a notification when the service is complete. No interaction, no scheduling calls, and no effort required on your part.
We will contact you when we receive your order to confirm the next available service date in your neighborhood. You can sign up online or call us directly — setup takes under two minutes and we'll handle the rest.
If we arrive for a scheduled cleaning and the can(s) are not accessible, we will attempt to contact you. If we cannot reach you or there is no response within 5 minutes, a $20 no-show fee will be charged. To avoid this, make sure your cans are at the curb after your regular trash pickup on your service day. You'll receive a reminder text the day before.
Contact us before your move so we can make proper arrangements to cancel or transfer your service. If you're moving to another area we serve, we can set up service at your new address. Because there are no contracts, canceling or changing your plan is always simple and fee-free.
Our Process
Our truck arrives the day after your trash has been collected. Leave your empty cans at the curb — we do the rest. We blast the interior with 200° pressurized hot water, apply an eco-friendly deodorizer, and return your clean can to the curb. You'll receive a notification when the service is complete. The entire process takes just minutes per can.
No. You choose which cans are on the program. You can also rotate or alternate cans each cleaning cycle — just send us a text before we arrive to let us know which cans you want cleaned that visit. Additional cans beyond your base plan are $10 each.
Environment & Safety
All wastewater is fully contained within our self-contained truck system — none of it is discharged onto your driveway, into the street, or into storm drains. Discharging contaminated wash water into storm drains is illegal and harmful to local waterways. We transport all wastewater to a licensed treatment facility after each route, maintaining full compliance with Water Quality Acts and Health Department requirements. On average we use less than 4 gallons per can — far less than the 15+ gallons a homeowner would use with a garden hose.
Yes. We use biodegradable, eco-friendly deodorizers that are safe for families, children, and pets. The primary cleaning power comes from the 200° pressurized hot water itself, which is chemical-free. Our deodorizer is applied after the hot water sanitization to leave a fresh scent — and it breaks down safely without harm to people, animals, or the environment.
Plans & Pricing
We offer four plan options: Monthly (every 4 weeks), Bimonthly (every 8 weeks), Quarterly (every 12 weeks), and One-Time. For most households, monthly service is ideal during warmer months when heat accelerates bacterial growth and odors. Lighter-use households often find quarterly service sufficient. You are only charged for the cans we actually clean during each scheduled visit.
None whatsoever. Every Elite Can Cleaning plan is completely contract-free. You can pause, switch frequencies, or cancel at any time with no fees or penalties. We also charge you only after the service is completed to your satisfaction — not before. We earn your continued business with results, not fine print.
Yes. We offer a one-time cleaning at $49.99 per can. First-time cleanings on heavily soiled cans often take considerably longer than routine maintenance visits, and we price accordingly. Many customers start with a one-time clean to see the results, then sign up for a recurring plan. If you're looking for immediate service, reach out and we'll get you scheduled.
